Job Summary
Lead the overall leadership, coordination, and administration of the school's interscholastic sports programs, serving as the key liaison between coaches, parents, student-athletes, and administrators. Develop and maintain the local athletic handbook, communicate program philosophy to stakeholders, and represent the school at Chicago Catholic Youth League and St. Viator Athletic Association meetings. Manage coach and volunteer recruitment, evaluation, and scheduling while ensuring compliance with safety guidelines, background checks, and concussion certification requirements. Coordinate practice and game schedules, oversee event planning, and prepare the annual budget for program approval. This part-time role requires availability during after-school hours and weekends, with an hourly range of $18.00 - $20.00.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated interest and background in athletics and youth development
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work collaboratively with diverse groups
- Ability to step in when coaches are not available in order to maintain programming
- Availability during after-school hours and weekends as needed
- Must complete Illinois concussion certification (via NFHS Learn or the IESA/IHSA concussion program) prior to the start date, and renew biennially thereafter, per the Illinois Youth Sports Concussion Safety Act
- Must complete DCFS mandated reporter training and the Archdiocese of Chicago's Protecting God's Children (VIRTUS) certification, along with a fingerprint-based criminal background check, prior to the start date
