Job Summary
In-home/mobile veterinary hospice role with Lap of Love in the Washington, DC area, offering flexible 2–5 day schedules and the opportunity to practice veterinary medicine with a focus on hospice and euthanasia care for pets and families. The position supports independent practice within a team-oriented culture, with mentorship and a 24/7/365 support structure. The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, strong communication with families, and delivering meaningful, emotionally fulfilling veterinary services in clients’ homes. The schedule may include 3–4 un-rushed appointments per day and prorated compensation for part-time arrangements. A license to practice and DVM degree are required, with onboarding and ongoing professional support provided.
Required Qualifications
- DVM or VMD degree from an AVMA-accredited college
- Licensed to practice veterinary medicine (DC/VA/MD jurisdiction as applicable)
- Ability to perform hospice and euthanasia care in-home/mobile setting
- Strong communication and compassionate family-centered care
- Experience or training in veterinary hospice is preferred
- Ability to work independently in a mobile practice environment
