Job Summary
Greets patients, family members, and guests; assists with check-in, registration, and insurance eligibility verification. Enters and scans demographic and insurance data into Epic, collects co-payments, and answers incoming calls while directing messages. Coordinates follow-up care, schedules referral appointments, and obtains diagnostic testing authorizations. Works cooperatively with the care team to support financial, clinical, and service goals while adhering to Lean processes. Requires 29.5-hour work week including Sunday and weekend shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- 1+ years of experience of computer proficiency experience with Microsoft office programs
- 1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience
- Ability to work 29.5 hours/week under the following parameters: Sundays from 6:50 am to 10:00 pm, Monday and Tuesday 1:50 pm to 10:00pm
- Ability to travel to other local offices as business requires (Nassau/Suffolk regions)
- Ability to be cross trained as a medical assistant

Desired Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience working in medical office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records
- Epic experience
- Knowledge of insurance carriers and managed care plans
- Bilingual (Spanish and English)
