Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager/Key Carrier at Big Lots: support Store Manager with overall store operation and deliverables; assist with hiring, training and development of store team members; perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager; protect company assets including cash; maintain professional environment; supervise hourly team members in the Store Manager's absence; ensure stockroom and sales floor meet company standards; manage freight flow and merchandise stocking; implement directives from Store Operations Weekly Bulletin; flexibility for part-time schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift, bend and transport merchandise weighing up to 50lbs from floor level to above shoulder height; must be able to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, and repetitive lifting
- Ability to work in a high energy, team environment
- Ability to work flexible, part-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer prior retail and management experience.
