Job Summary
Big Lots is seeking a Part Time Assistant Manager to support store operations and assist the Store Manager in delivering excellent customer service and achieving company objectives. Responsibilities include hiring, training and developing store team members; assisting with day-to-day store activities; performing opening/closing procedures in the Store Manager's absence; protecting store assets and cash; upholding policies, safety guidelines, and a professional, team-oriented environment; supervising hourly Team Members when the Store Manager is not on site; processing corporate directives; assisting with merchandise receipt/returns and freight flow; meeting productivity standards; ordering and stocking merchandise; maintaining stockroom and sales floor standards; implementing directives from the Store Operations Weekly Bulletin. Qualifications mention preferred prior retail and management experience, effective communication/interpersonal/written skills, ability to lift up to 50lbs, and flexibility to work a part-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
