Job Summary
As a Part-time Assistant Manager at World Market, you will play a key leadership role in driving sales and profitability while fostering a customer-first selling culture. In partnership with the Store Manager, you will lead and develop a high-performance team, ensure adherence to values, policies, and operational standards, and provide leadership across Customer Experience, Freight Flow, Operations, and Merchandising. Responsibilities include modeling a customer-first culture, using reporting to solve business opportunities, maintaining brand and visual standards, planning daily tasks in the absence of the Store Manager, recruiting and developing a high-performance team, validating loss prevention and inventory initiatives, and maintaining a safe work environment. The role requires effective communication, the ability to coach employees in the moment, de-escalation skills, prioritization, urgency, attention to detail, creative problem solving, and flexible scheduling to meet business needs. Minimum of 2+ years of leadership experience in a fast-paced specialty retail environment preferred; ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays; ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and lift up to 40 lbs. should be noted, along with eligibility for 401(k) participation after a period of service.
