Job Summary

Oversee PAL School After-school programming implementation, including mental health support, inclusion coordination, and special needs resource activation. Supervise part-time Group Leaders and Activity Specialists while fostering a supportive culture aligned with strategic objectives and SACC regulations. Manage recruitment, hiring, and staff supervision to ensure program delivery across day, evening, and weekend shifts. Coordinate with NYPD, NYCPS, and community partners to maintain reciprocal relationships and troubleshoot on-site issues. Collect and analyze program data to drive recommendations and plan citywide events. Respond to time-sensitive mental health needs, including suicide prevention and grief support.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in child development, education, physical education, or recreation
  • NYS Children's Program Administrator Credential
  • SACC Credential
  • Two years of direct experience working with youth under 13
  • Two years in college with 18 credits in child development, education, physical education, or recreation
  • A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated successful experience in providing services to youth that includes program management and staff supervision
  • At least three years in a leadership capacity
  • Demonstrated skills in program planning, implementation, or evaluation
  • Microsoft office skills
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish, French, or Chinese
  • Able to travel to any PAL location in the 5 Boroughs for training
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 1:00-6:00pm with weekends and nights as needed
  • Employment with PAL is contingent upon successful completion of all the Agency's lawful pre-employment checks, which may include a background check

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SACC regulations and DYCD funding requirements
  • Knowledge of DYCD Connect
  • Open to learning and growing
  • All staff will be learning mental health, SEL, and special needs inclusion skills and expected to integrate them into programming
