Job Summary

Assist with day-to-day operations and programming at Children's Wonderland Park, including scheduling, staff supervision, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. Support planning, promotion, and execution of community and special events by coordinating with vendors, contractors, and volunteers. Create marketing materials using Microsoft Publisher or Canva, while maintaining accurate records for attendance, evaluations, and staff hours. Serve as a liaison to the public and community partners, responding to inquiries and resolving issues. This role reports to the Recreation Coordinator and involves occasional weekends and evenings during event periods. The position requires a valid California Driver's License, First Aid/CPR certification, and at least two years of experience in recreation or event coordination.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Minimum two years of experience in recreation, parks, event coordination, or a related field
  • Minimum two years of college coursework in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Public Administration, or a closely related field
  • Possession of a valid California Driver's License
  • First Aid and CPR Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • Schedule may vary, including occasional weekends and evenings during event periods

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Principles of recreation program planning and coordination
  • Knowledge of Public engagement and community outreach strategies
  • Knowledge of Computer applications including Word, Excel, Publisher, and social media platforms
  • Knowledge of Safety procedures and best practices for public spaces and events
  • Ability to Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to Communicate effectively with the public, staff, and external partners
  • Ability to Coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to Supervise and support part-time staff and volunteers
  • Ability to Assist in resolving customer concerns tactfully and efficiently
  • Experience creating marketing materials including flyers, social media content, and event signage using programs such as Microsoft Publisher, Canva, or equivalent
