Part-Time Aircraft Cleaner - MSY Airport

Job Summary
Clean, wash, and sanitize aircraft cabins including seats, lavatories, and overhead compartments while ensuring galleys are stocked and organized. Remove trash, vacuum floors, replace consumables, and inspect for damage or lost items, reporting findings to supervisors. Clean the cockpit area without interfering with controls and handle chemicals safely. Document completed tasks, report inventory needs, and participate in training sessions for safety updates. Maintain confidentiality and follow all aviation regulations while coordinating with team members to meet cleaning schedules. Work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays to support 24/7 airline operations.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment
- Communicate effectively in English, including reading, writing, and speaking
- Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices such as iPads, tablets, computers, and mobile devices
- Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
- Pass a background check and drug screen
- Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
- Must be willing to work with tight deadlines
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
- Prolonged standing and walking in an indoor or outdoor environment as applicable
- Must be able to reach with arms and grasp with hands
- Must be able to push and pull
- Must be able to crawl and crouch at times in confined tight spaces
- Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and kneel
- Must be able to climb and work at elevated heights
- Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
