Job Summary
Supervise the classroom and facilitate the Friendship Cares academic and enrichment curricula while maintaining a neat and organized environment. Complete daily attendance accurately, help children establish good personal hygiene habits, and ensure safety during all activities. Assist with general housekeeping tasks, participate in dismissal procedures, and report any incidents to the Extended Day Site Coordinator. Greets parents and children warmly, attends all staff meetings and training programs, and supports the team atmosphere. Works with other staff members and participates in school functions such as Parent Open House and Back-to-School Night.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Meet the requirements of the licensing agency
- Have a warm and friendly personality
- Be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others
- Be able to relate well to children
- Be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the School's program
- Have earned an associate's or more advanced degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, with a major in education or child and youth development
- Have earned at least forty-eight (48) semester credit hours, or its recognized equivalent, from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, of which at least nine (9) semester credit hours, or its recognized equivalent, shall be in child and youth development, and have at least six (6) months of supervised occupational experience working with school age children under the age of fifteen (15) years at a...
- Have earned a high school diploma and a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, and have at least one (1) year of supervised occupational experience working with school age children under the age of fifteen (15) years at a duly authorized school or camp, a licensed Child Development Center, or the equivalent
- Successful completion of the ETS Para-Pro exam
