Job Summary

Supervise the classroom and facilitate the Friendship Cares academic and enrichment curricula as prescribed. Complete daily attendance accurately and on-time while helping with general housekeeping tasks to maintain a neat and organized environment. Assist children in establishing good personal hygiene habits and treat all students with dignity and respect. Participate in dismissal procedures to ensure each child leaves with an appropriate adult and report any incidents promptly to the Extended Day Site Coordinator. This role operates from 3pm to 6pm Monday through Friday at Southeast Elementary and Middle, with a salary of $28.50 per hour. Candidates must hold a High School Diploma, GED, CDA, or relevant college transcripts.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have your HS Diploma/GED, CDA, ParaPro or College Transcripts to be considered for an interview
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must meet the requirements of the licensing agency
  • Must have a warm and friendly personality
  • Must be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others
  • Must be able to relate well to children
  • Must be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the School's program
  • Must have earned an associate's or more advanced degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, with a major in education or child and youth development
  • Must have earned at least forty-eight (48) semester credit hours, or its recognized equivalent, from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, of which at least nine (9) semester credit hours, or its recognized equivalent, shall be in child and youth development, and have at least six (6) months of supervised occupational experience working with school age children under the age of fifteen (15) years...
  • Must have earned a high school diploma and a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, and have at least one (1) year of supervised occupational experience working with school age children under the age of fifteen (15) years at a duly authorized school or camp, a licensed Child Development Center, or the equivalent
  • Must successfully complete the ETS Para-Pro exam
