Job Summary

Supervise the classroom, facilitate the Friendship Cares academic and enrichment curricula, and complete daily attendance accurately. Assist with general housekeeping, maintain a neat and organized classroom, and help children establish good habits of personal hygiene. Monitor all activities to ensure safety, report incidents promptly, and participate in dismissal procedures to ensure each child leaves with an appropriate adult. Greet parents and children with salutations, attend staff meetings and training programs, and participate in school functions. Work with other staff members to form a supportive team atmosphere.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Meet the requirements of the licensing agency
  • Have a warm and friendly personality
  • Be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others
  • Be able to relate well to children
  • Be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the School's program
  • Have earned an associate's or more advanced degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, with a major in education or child and youth development
  • Have earned at least forty-eight (48) semester credit hours, or its recognized equivalent, from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, of which at least nine (9) semester credit hours, or its recognized equivalent, shall be in child and youth development, and have at least six (6) months of supervised occupational experience working with school age children under the age of fifteen (15) years at a...
  • Have earned a high school diploma and a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, and have at least one (1) year of supervised occupational experience working with school age children under the age of fifteen (15) years at a duly authorized school or camp, a licensed Child Development Center, or the equivalent
  • Have your HS Diploma/GED, CDA, ParaPro or College Transcripts
  • Successful completion of the ETS Para-Pro exam
