Job Summary
Build positive relationships with students and create a welcoming environment while serving as a role model for respect and resilience. Lead engaging enrichment, recreation, and team-building activities, and facilitate homework help and academic support sessions. Provide positive behavior guidance, conflict resolution, and social-emotional skill development to help children thrive. Assist with daily program setup, cleanup, check-in, and dismissal procedures to maintain an organized, safe learning space. Monitor student safety and well-being at all times while following all company policies and licensing requirements. Work Monday through Friday from 2:20 PM to 6:00 PM during before, after, and summer programs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Candidates must be 18 years old
- At least 240 hours of school-aged training completed within the past 5 years
- Associate's Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, Physical Education, Recreation, Human Development, Child and Family Studies, etc.
- Step 6 or higher on the Oregon Registry
- Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout program hours
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally
- Available to work the full schedule as listed (Monday-Friday: 2:20PM-6:0PM, Before & After School Programs, School Breaks, and Summer Programs)
- This position is through the 2026-2027 school year
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with children in schools, childcare programs, camps, recreation programs, or youth organizations
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Positive attitude, patience, and a genuine passion for youth development
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
