Job Summary
Lead engaging after-school science sessions for students in a part-time role at local partner schools. Responsibilities include facilitating safe, hands-on experiments and demonstrations, maintaining a positive classroom environment, managing materials and cleanup, and coordinating with school staff. Ideal candidates are current or former teachers or educators, college or graduate students studying science, education, or STEM fields, or STEM professionals who enjoy teaching. Topics include everyday chemistry, states of matter, kitchen science, cleaning science, simple machines, engineering challenges, environmental science, observation, and basic scientific inquiry; programs are typically 1 hour per week with potential multiple programs per week based on availability.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 60 college credits completed
- Experience working with youth (schools, camps, after-school programs, or tutoring)
