Part-Time After-School Household Science Instructor

Job Summary
Lead engaging after-school science sessions for students at local partner schools. Responsibilities include facilitating safe, hands-on experiments and demonstrations, maintaining a positive, structured classroom environment, managing materials and proper clean-up, and coordinating with school staff and Concorde program contacts. Topics may include everyday chemistry using household materials, states of matter and chemical reactions, kitchen science and cooking chemistry, simple machines and forces, engineering challenges, environmental science topics such as recycling and energy use, and recording observations with basic scientific inquiry. Qualifications require a minimum of 60 college credits completed, comfort teaching basic science concepts through hands-on activities, experience working with youth in educational settings, strong communication and group facilitation skills, and reliability. This is a part-time, after-school role with schedules typically around one hour per session, once per week, with flexibility for multiple programs per week depending on availability.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 60 college credits completed
- Comfort teaching basic science concepts through hands-on activities
- Experience working with youth (schools, camps, after-school programs, or tutoring)
- Strong communication and group facilitation skills
