Job Summary
Lead engaging after-school science sessions for students at partner schools, delivering structured, hands-on experiments and demonstrations that connect practical science concepts to everyday life. Responsibilities include maintaining a positive classroom environment, managing materials and cleanup, coordinating with school staff and Concorde program contacts, and adapting lessons to student needs. Requires a minimum of 60 college credits, comfort teaching science concepts to youth, and strong communication/facilitation skills. Schedule ranges from 1–4 hours per week (after school) with flexible assignment opportunities; typically contract-based and aligned with local school programs. Topics may include everyday chemistry, states of matter, kitchen science, simple machines, environmental science, and observation recording.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 60 college credits completed
- Comfort teaching basic science concepts through hands-on activities
- Experience working with youth (schools, camps, after-school programs, or tutoring)
- Strong communication and group facilitation skills
