Job Summary
Create a safe, engaging environment for school-aged children from 2PM to 5:30PM, Mon-Fri, providing active supervision and implementing developmentally appropriate activities. Assist with homework, serve snacks per CACFP policies, and maintain accurate attendance records while ensuring authorized pick-ups. Report injuries or incidents immediately, complete required documentation, and attend mandatory training sessions. Maintain a clean, organized space complying with BFTS safety and sanitation regulations. Communicate professionally with parents and staff. This part-time role requires a high school diploma, one year of childcare experience, and CPR/First Aid certification.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must pass a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting through DECAL/BFTS
- Must hold or be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to walk, stand, sit on the floor, bend, and move quickly in response to child needs
- Visual and auditory ability to observe and monitor child safety
Desired Qualifications
- CDA, TCC, or related coursework in child development
- At least 1 year of experience working with children in a licensed childcare or after-school program
- Ability to relate to children and their families with warmth, patience, and professionalism
