Job Summary
Provide active supervision of children in all areas while implementing developmentally appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. Assist students with homework, facilitate recreational activities, and serve snacks in accordance with CACFP policies. Maintain accurate attendance records, ensure authorized pick-up procedures are followed, and keep the environment clean and safe per BFTS regulations. Report any injuries or incidents to the supervisor and complete required documentation. Communicate positively with parents and attend mandatory training sessions. This part-time role (2PM-5:30PM, Mon-Fri) requires a high school diploma, one year of childcare experience, and CPR/First Aid certification.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must pass a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting through DECAL/BFTS
- Must hold or be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to walk, stand, sit on the floor, bend, and move quickly in response to child needs
- Visual and auditory ability to observe and monitor child safety
Desired Qualifications
- CDA, TCC, or related coursework in child development
- At least 1 year of experience working with children in a licensed childcare or after-school program
- Ability to relate to children and their families with warmth, patience, and professionalism
