Part-Time After School Care Provider (2PM-5:30PM)

Job Summary

Supervise school-aged children from 2PM to 5:30PM daily, implementing developmentally appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. Maintain accurate attendance records, serve snacks per CACFP policies, and ensure a clean, safe environment compliant with Bright from the Start and DECAL regulations. Assist students with homework, report incidents to the supervisor, and communicate professionally with parents while attending required staff meetings and training. This part-time role requires a high school diploma, one year of childcare experience, and CPR/First Aid certification.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Meet BFTS staff qualification requirements for school-age care
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Pass a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting through DECAL/BFTS
  • Hold or be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit on the floor, bend, and move quickly in response to child needs
  • Visual and auditory ability to observe and monitor child safety

Desired Qualifications

  • CDA, TCC, or related coursework in child development
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children in a licensed childcare or after-school program
  • Ability to relate to children and their families with warmth, patience, and professionalism
