Job Summary
Part-time clinical instructors report to the Department Chair and work closely with instructional faculty to provide instructional support and clinical supervision. Responsibilities include completing an institution-sponsored training program, planning and coordinating student patient assignments, conducting Zoom sessions, and evaluating student performance. Required skills include competency with nursing technologies, strong communication abilities, and clinical expertise in nursing. A master's degree in nursing and an active NYS RN license are mandatory, alongside significant RN experience in clinical settings.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing (preferred master's degree in nursing education) from a program with institutional accreditation
- Active, unencumbered NYS RN license
- Minimum of 5 years of RN experience in varied clinical areas, caring for patients across the lifespan
- Current clinical experience within an acute care hospital setting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Current BLS certification
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supervising nursing students and/or new graduate RNs
- Experience with various modes of educational technology, including video conferencing software
