Job Summary
Part-time clinical instructors at Excelsior University are responsible for providing clinical education and oversight to nursing students. Duties include completing institution-sponsored training, coordinating patient assignments, demonstrating nursing skills, and providing timely feedback to students. Instructors must maintain a strong commitment to student success, supporting engagement and retention initiatives. Candidates are required to have a master's degree in nursing, an active NYS RN license, a minimum of 5 years of diverse RN experience, and current clinical experience in an acute care setting. Compensation for the role is $5,000, paid bi-weekly.
Required Qualifications
- A master's degree in nursing from a program with institutional accreditation.
- Active, unencumbered NYS RN license.
- Minimum of 5 years of RN experience in varied clinical areas.
- Current clinical experience within an acute care hospital setting.
- Current BLS certification.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supervising nursing students and/or new graduate RNs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with various modes of educational technology, including video conferencing software.
