Job Summary
Deliver and receive shift reports, provide personal care including hygiene and dressing for residents, and manage meal tray delivery and kitchen supply orders. Answer call bells promptly, assist in meal preparation, and report changes in residents' physical, mental, or emotional conditions to the charge nurse or doctor. Respond to emergencies, implement delegated interventions, practice infection control protocols, and document all incidents and equipment malfunctions on resident checklists. Work 40 hours bi-weekly from 5pm to 9pm starting December 1, 2026, with a requirement for a Personal Support Worker certificate, CPR/First Aid certification, and two years of geriatric experience.
Required Qualifications
- Community College Health Care Attendant/Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent experience
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Two years or more experience, preferably in a geriatric setting
- Excellent communication skills
- Empathy for, and understanding of the needs of the elderly
- Work as part of a team
- Capable of adapting to different situations and change
- Keen interest in working with seniors
