Job Summary
Part-Time IT trainer role focusing on teaching technology to older adults using OATS curriculum in San Francisco or Palo Alto. Responsibilities include delivering in-person and virtual technology courses, creating a supportive learning environment, guiding participants in using technology, making outbound calls to Senior Planet members, coordinating with site staff, submitting paperwork, collecting surveys, entering data, and participating in special projects. Qualifications emphasize excellent communication, ability to convey technical information in English (and Mandarin or Spanish), experience teaching diverse age groups, proficiency with Windows/iOS/social media, willingness to travel to senior/community centers, teamwork, time management, flexibility, patience, humor, and at least 1 year of professional experience.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent speaking and communication skills
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly in English, English and Mandarin OR English and Spanish
- Experience teaching teenagers, adults, and/or seniors, preferable
- Proficiency with Windows computers, iOS, popular social media sites, and other common technologies/devices
- Comfortable traveling to various senior/community centers as needed, when/if safe to do so
- Ability to work independently and as part of a training team
- Superior time-management skills
- Flexibility, patience, and a sense of humor
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a professional work setting
