Job Summary
The Medication Aide administers prescribed medications and treatments to residents in accordance with state requirements, observes and documents effects, communicates concerns to Wellness Director/Coordinator, and supports residents with activities of daily living to promote independence and dignity. Requires up-to-date medication certifications and completion of state-regulatory training; emphasizes compassionate, effective communication and teamwork in a part-time 1st shift role in an assisted living/CBRF setting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- CBRF Class Certifications - Standard Precautions, First Aid and Choking, Fire Safety, and Medication Administration
- Meets age requirements according to facility policy and state regulations
- Successful completion of medication assistance training in compliance with state regulatory requirements and facility requirements
- Up-to-date medication certification requirements according to state regulations
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Compassionate and empathetic in personal interactions
- Self-supervising, self-motivating; willing to collaborate and work as a team member
- Adaptable and flexible; highly organized with ability to manage multiple demands/tasks concurrently
- Preferred direct care experience
