Job Summary

Prepare and fabricate various parts for production phases while maintaining required inventory levels. Use blueprints to ensure tolerances, then burn, shear, punch, drill, saw, and grind components prior to assembly. Operate stud welding, MIG, and arc welding equipment to meet A.S.M.E. code standards. Transfer and document code material heat numbers as necessary. Independently maintain adequate inventory levels and operate jib cranes, forklifts, and overhead cranes to move parts and assemblies. Read blueprints and interpret safety rules and operating instructions. Work Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with Saturdays as needed. Requires a forklift license, basic blueprint reading, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • one to three months related experience and/or training
  • equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret document such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractures and decimals
  • Ability to compute rates
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Basic knowledge; ability to operate scanners
  • Forklift license
  • Basic Blue Print reading
