Job Summary
Parks / Trails Maintenance Specialist performs a wide range of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance, construction, and repair work to clean and maintain Utah County parks and parkways. Duties include cleaning and maintaining parks, parkways, restrooms, parking lots, pavilions, and related facilities; mowing and edging lawns; raking leaves and removing debris; trimming trees with chainsaws and pole saws; cutting back brush on trails; spraying trails and park areas to control weeds; assisting with sprinkler systems; hauling topsoil, installing sod; preparing facilities for events and activities; opening/closing parks as needed; operating light equipment (tractors, riding mowers, chain saws, etc.); performing minor equipment maintenance; pressure washing surfaces; and other duties as assigned. Requires basic knowledge of park maintenance operations, hand tools and grounds equipment, and safety practices. May include weekend/evening work and outdoor exposure in various weather. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license, with an obligation to obtain a Utah driver’s license within 60 days of employment.
