Job Summary
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in trucks, autos, and gas/diesel-powered equipment (mowers, construction, landscaping—you name it); perform safety inspections and repairs on trucks, SUVs, tractors, and more; train operators on safe equipment usage; handle welding and fabrication for repairs; provide field repairs and road calls; organize and manage repair projects from start to finish, including maintenance logs; research cost estimates for materials and supplies; operate heavy equipment (trucks, snow removal, tractors); weekend shifts may be required—the fleet never sleeps; Plainfield Park District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of mechanical repair experience
- valid driver’s license
- experience with truck/district vehicles and small machinery repair
- familiarity with managing materials inventory and safety protocols
