Job Summary
Lead and participate in park maintenance activities, including scheduling daily assignments and supervising lower-level staff in the absence of the Crew Chief. Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, tractors, loaders, and backhoes while performing grounds tasks like mowing, watering, fertilizing, and planting. Inspect parks and facilities to identify needs, then maintain or repair amenities including playgrounds, bleachers, and irrigation systems. Assist with light construction projects and perform preventive maintenance on vehicles and tools. Prepare accurate records and reports of work activities and inspections. Travel between assigned parks using a City vehicle. Requires a valid Texas driver's license and Non-Commercial applicator license; hourly rate ranges from $17.77 to $21.33.
Required Qualifications
- Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance
- A valid Texas driver's license, the ability to obtain one within ninety (90) days of employment, or a military waiver
- A Texas Department of Agriculture Non-Commercial applicators license or the ability to obtain within six (6) months
- Two (2) years of experience working in a landscape crew environment, preferably in a park maintenance and development setting
