Job Summary
Perform skilled/manual work maintaining city parks sports fields, including turf maintenance (natural and synthetic), landscaping, janitorial/custodial tasks, and minor repairs to park structures and equipment. Duties include field preparation for practices/games, applying fertilizers/herbicides, mowing and edging, plantings, litter removal, drainage work, and operating/maintaining equipment (e.g., backhoe, trucks, tractors). Schedule is Monday–Friday with some weekends/holidays; requires travel in varied weather; safety-sensitive role with potential for extreme weather duties and emergency response.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and two (2) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Position may require a commercial driver’s license.
