Job Summary
The Parks, Heritage, and Tourism Interpreter II develops and conducts engaging interpretive programs and living-history activities to educate visitors about Arkansas’s natural, cultural, and historical resources. Responsibilities include planning, presenting guided tours, interactive exhibits, and special events; creating publicity, assisting with trail maintenance and park operations; and supporting outreach with educators and community organizations. The role emphasizes storytelling, interpretation methods, and environmental education, with duties spanning research, administration, and occasional on-site management in the absence of other staff. Strong communication, water-safety readiness, and the ability to work weekends/holidays outdoors are required; boating knowledge and comfort with water-based activities are a plus. Licensure/certifications are not required, but background checks and driving record checks are part of the process. Licensure/Certifications: N/A. Required Qualifications
- At least two years of experience in interpretive programming, environmental education, museums, education, or a related field.
