Job Summary

Monitor designated streets, lots, garages, and public areas to ensure compliance with parking policies. Issue citations and warnings for non-compliance using a computerized handheld device or manual tickets, and impound or relocate vehicles as directed. Provide customer service by answering questions regarding directions, events, building locations, and parking regulations. Assist maintenance staff with duties related to parking equipment and facility upkeep, including inspecting lots, painting, cleaning, and repairing meters and pay machines. Collect and secure monies from parking meters, multi-space machines, and pay-on-foot technology. Support event staff with traffic control, payment receipt, and lot usage control. Assist office staff with permit sales data entry and mailings during peak seasons. Work alone exercising proper judgment and tact while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of geography of the area they are enforcing
  • Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions
  • Ability to use a hand held computer
  • Ability to operate a motorized vehicle or bicycle
  • Ability to understand and apply parking regulations
  • Ability to interact with others in a courteous and tactful manner
  • Ability to walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire
  • Availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or week-ends
  • Valid state-issued driver's license
  • Current address
  • Acceptable driving record
