Job Summary
Monitor designated streets, lots, garages, and public areas to ensure compliance with parking policies. Provide customer service by answering questions regarding directions, events, building locations, and parking regulations. Issue citations and warnings using a computerized handheld device or manual tickets, and assist with vehicle impoundment, booting, or relocation as directed. Support maintenance staff by inspecting lots, repairing parking meters and pay machines, and installing signage. Collect and secure parking revenues from various sources and assist event staff with traffic control and lot usage management. Perform permit sales data entry and mailings during peak seasons. This role requires working alone, standing, and walking for extended periods in all weather conditions. A valid driver's license and ability to operate a motorized vehicle or bicycle are required.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of geography of the area they are enforcing
- Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions
- Ability to use a hand held computer
- Ability to operate a motorized vehicle or bicycle
- Ability to understand and apply parking regulations
- Ability to interact with others in a courteous and tactful manner
- Ability to walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire
- Availability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift and/or week-ends
- Valid state-issued driver's license
- Current address
- Acceptable driving record
