Job Summary
Patrol the Town and beach areas enforcing civil ordinances, issuing citations for violations such as littering, illegal surfing, and open fires. Investigate complaints regarding stray, wild, or domestic animals, capturing and transporting them to the shelter while addressing cases of animal cruelty. Operate a four-wheel-drive vehicle and animal handling equipment to collect wild or vicious animals, and assist owners with wounded or deceased pets. Act as a sworn law enforcement officer when required by the Police Department, testifying in court and maintaining operational readiness under CALEA standards. Educate the community on safe animal handling practices and maintain daily activity logs.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school
- Completion of basic law enforcement training
- possession of a Basic Law Enforcement Certificate
- equivalent combination of education and experience
