Job Summary
Park Maintenance Worker responsible for day-to-day maintenance of a park unit to ensure quality facilities and a safe environment. Responsibilities include inspecting and maintaining equipment, mowing and green space maintenance (fertilization, aerification, seeding, weeding, planting, mulching, irrigation), setting up and maintaining natural or synthetic fields and courts, maintaining park buildings and facilities (cleaning, setup, flooring work, graffiti removal), maintaining roadways and parking areas, operating pools and splash pads, and participating on special project teams and community outreach. Requirements include current Wisconsin residency, valid Wisconsin driver’s license, high school diploma or GED, grounds/landscape/park maintenance experience, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to obtain Class B CDL and First Aid/CPR within six months of start date. Preferred qualifications include an Associate degree or higher in Parks and Recreation, Horticulture, Agronomy, or Turf Management, Class A CDL, and Category 3.0 Pesticide Certification. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Grounds, Landscape, or Park Maintenance experience
- Possession of a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License
- Able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs
- Willing and able to obtain Class B CDL within six (6) months of start date
- Willing and able to obtain First Aid and CPR Certification within six (6) months of start date
