Job Summary

Provide regular, long-term home visiting services to a caseload of approximately 12 families, establishing trusting, supportive relationships using a strength-based, family-centered approach. Support parents in strengthening parent-child relationships, promoting healthy child development, and conducting required screenings, assessments, and program tools. Assist families in identifying goals, monitoring progress, and building problem-solving and advocacy skills while connecting them to community resources, healthcare, and other supportive services. Maintain accurate client records, documentation, and program reporting, and participate in required training, meetings, and Parents as Teachers Foundational Training. Report concerns related to child maltreatment, safety, mental health, substance use, or domestic violence in accordance with mandated reporter responsibilities. Occasional evening work may be required to accommodate family schedules and group events.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two years of supervised experience working with young children, birth to age 5, and/or families
  • Knowledge of child growth and development, parent-child relationships, and family support services
  • Ability to build rapport with families and support them in a non-judgmental, empathetic, and culturally responsive manner
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, writing, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently, remain accountable, and manage documentation requirements
  • Comfort with basic computer skills, including email, internet use, and word processing
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver's license

  • Ability to complete Parents as Teachers Foundational Training within two months of hire
  • Ability to successfully complete required background checks
