Job Summary
Conduct home, school, and virtual visits with families from pregnancy through kindergarten entry to support child development and community connection. Maintain assigned caseloads by planning visits using district data systems, gathering materials, and documenting all activities within 48 hours. Complete developmental screenings annually, submit required family documentation, and participate in quarterly group connections events. Collaborate with the supervisor on professional growth plans, assist in family recruitment, and link families to community resources. Work a flexible part-time schedule of nine months with evening and weekend availability, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to district values.
Required Qualifications
- Certification and/or a four-year degree in either Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Elementary Education, Health, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
- demonstrated ability in working with young children and their parents
- Sixty (60) semester hours or more of credit from an academic degree from a granting institution
- two (2) years of successful experience in a program working with young children and their parents, as approved by DESE
- Five (5) years of successful experience in a program working with young children and their parents as approved by DESE
- high school diploma or equivalent
- Current certification as a Parent Educator from the Parents as Teachers National Center
- Personal, reliable transportation
- ability to speak and hear in an environment where numerous conversations and activities may be taking place simultaneously
- ability to transport self to and from home visits with own vehicle
- ability to drive in variety of weather conditions
- ability to sit on a floor for a period of greater than one hour
- ability to lift twenty pounds or greater
- ability to read handwritten or printed material
- Consistent and regular attendance
Desired Qualifications
- Will consider related degrees or a two-year associate degree or two-year certificate program in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Nursing
- demonstrated ability and experience in working with young children and their parents
- Basic computer skills specifically with google programming, including data entry, website navigation, e-mail and other software
