Job Summary
The Parent Support Worker/Advocate will serve youth and families by providing advocacy services and ensuring safe visitations for children and parents. Responsibilities include initiating and implementing advocacy plans based on a strength-based approach, facilitating visits, documenting observations, and supporting families involved with services. The ideal candidate must possess a High School Diploma or GED, have experience in community work, knowledge of resources, and strong communication skills. Flexibility in work hours is available, along with weekly pay and reimbursement for activities and mileage.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
- Familiarity with child-welfare systems and trauma-informed care.
- Ability to work with diverse populations of staff, children, and families in a collaborative and culturally sensitive manner.
- Provide quality documentation, progress notes, and submitted within required deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance required.
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
- Experience using an electronic health record system is a plus.
