Job Summary

Provide intentional, authentic support to parents/primary caregivers of children with emotional, physical, behavioral, and/or mental health challenges, including families involved in the child welfare system. Collaboratively develop goals and plans, deliver supportive activities that build on strengths and resiliency, share personal navigation experiences, engage with diverse communities, and offer empathy and practical assistance in homes, communities, and trainings. Maintain confidentiality, update individualized service plans, connect families to community resources, collaborate with community-based organizations, attend meetings and court proceedings as needed, document communications and maintain records, and operate with flexibility to meet evenings/weekends and multiple responsibilities. Must be a parent/primary caregiver with lived experience, able to function as a BHT/BHPP, and meet Arizona requirements including fingerprint clearance and valid driver’s license.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a parent/primary caregiver with lived experience who has raised or is currently raising a child with emotional, behavioral, physical or mental health.
  • Must meet the requirement to function as a BHT, or BHPP.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to obtain fingerprint clearance through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (if applicable).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable transportation and proof of registration and insurance as required by the Law in Arizona.
  • Must be familiar with using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
  • Requires adequate writing and typing skills to complete and submit necessary information and communication effectively between coworkers, external services and for/about the parent/caregiver.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work at times when the family is available which may include evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to take on multiple job roles and tasks as assigned.
  • Must have experience navigating at least two child-serving systems.
