Job Summary
Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the Parent, Family, and Community Engagement (PFCE) Framework across Early Learning Programs in Hernando and Volusia counties. Design, monitor, and analyze engagement strategies to promote family well-being and parent leadership while overseeing compliance with Head Start Performance Standards. Facilitate the PFCE Committee, recruit parent leaders, and deliver targeted trainings to staff and families, including initiatives for fathers and male figures. Build partnerships with community organizations and serve as a visible representative at outreach events, utilizing data to drive strategic decisions and ensure culturally responsive practices. Maintain confidentiality and participate in required safety drills while traveling frequently to support program operations.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree with human services, social work, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in human services, early childhood, family services, or a related field
- Experience working directly with families, including engagement, support, or connecting families to resources
- Experience in community engagement, outreach, event coordination, group facilitation, or communication efforts, such as presentations or social media
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Insurable by Company's current insurance carrier
- Subject to federal, state and local legal requirements/background checks for working with children
- Certification in First Aid/CPR
- At least one of the DCF Child Care training courses listed in S.402.305(2)(d), Florida Statutes
- Head Start/Early Head Start required certification hours
- Head Start/Early Head Start mandated 55 hours of Florida DCF Child Care Training
- Certification in ERSEA
- Ability to work with limited direction
- Knowledge of organizational methods
- Skills in completing work with a high degree of accuracy
- Skill in developing policies, procedures and/or systems for implementing programmatic functions
- Ability to evaluate programs and situations and make decisions for improvement
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with people, including co-workers, parents, and children
- Ability to analyze and interpret data
- Ability to use and operate a personal computer
- Skills in public speaking and public relations
- Ability to work with children with special needs
- Knowledge of disability and mental health issues and practices

- Knowledge of community resources
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively across diverse families, staff, and community partners
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, including the ability to lead trainings, meetings, events, and group discussions
- Ability to promote family engagement, parent leadership, and community collaboration
- Ability to represent the program and organization professionally in diverse community settings
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently throughout service area to support program operations and engagement efforts
