Parent Educator -TSN OAHU

Job Summary
Conduct intake, initiate necessary forms, and build rapport with participants to develop family service plans focused on child development and stress reduction. Administer child development screens, maintain collaborative contact lists, and provide transportation for participants across the island using a personal vehicle. Attend case conferences, participate in staff meetings, and complete extensive documentation via electronic or hard copy records. Maintain participant confidentiality and ensure timely completion of case logs, mileage logs, and miscellaneous reports. Provide information and referrals to community resources while accommodating family schedules for evening or weekend services.
Required Qualifications
- High school or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervised work experience with child and/or parents
- Experience in working with issues such as child abuse and neglect, domestic violence and substance abuse
- Willingness to work with parents that may present safety issues
- Skills in collaborating with other disciplines and agency personnel
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills
- Organized with good time management skills
- Ability to complete extensive and detailed documentation requirements via electronic records and/or hard copy as necessary
- Valid driver's license
- Current no-fault coverage
- Daily access to an insured vehicle
- Valid Hawaii driver's license
- Clear driver's abstract
- Willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island
- Successful completion of CPR, CPI and/or van driving training
- Successful completion of CPI classes OR other Behavioral Management certification
- Successful completion of First Aid classes
