Job Summary
Lead coordination of the Parents As Teachers program, including implementing referrals, scheduling assessments, conducting home visits, and facilitating parent group meetings. Deliver the provided curriculum, gather and maintain family data, collaborate with community agencies to improve health and welfare, and share information on child development and neuroscience research. Individualize presentations for each family, communicate results of screenings to parents/guardians, supervise parent-child playgroups, assist in publications and mailing of monthly newsletters, participate in monthly staff meetings, and contribute to maintaining the resource library. Ensure professionalism, confidentiality, and alignment with Parents as Teachers National Center guidelines; support the district’s educational mission and board policies; pursue ongoing professional growth and annual re-certification.
Required Qualifications
- Prefer baccalaureate degree
- Demonstrated ability to work with young children and parents
- Certified through National Parents As Teachers Center
- Twenty hours of inservice per year
