Job Summary
Provide weekly in-home visits to families enrolled in the Home Based Education program, delivering the Parents as Teachers curriculum and developmentally appropriate activities. Develop individualized education plans with parents, monitor children’s health, growth and development, and maintain confidential family files. Collaborate with the Family Support Specialist and supervisors in case management, participate in staff trainings, recruit eligible families, and advocate for families within the program. Must build rapport with diverse families, ensure culturally responsive materials, and support transitions to early childhood programs. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; knowledge of Early Head Start standards and related licensing requirements a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field; Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for Home Visitor; or Illinois Gateways Early Childhood Education credential (Level 3 or higher) required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with young children and families required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) written and verbal communication skills preferred
