Job Summary
Family Development Specialist on Outreach staff provides home visitation/education services to participating families and groups. Duties include making home visits to families to support development in areas such as Parent-Child Interaction, Family/Child Well-being, Development Centered Parenting, and Home Safety; planning individual and group activities to stimulate language, social, and motor skills; supporting teen parenting, weekly play groups, and Parent Cafes; coordinating with community partners to link families to resources; maintaining records and data entry; collaborating in team meetings and home visit observations to ensure model fidelity; and representing the agency at public events. Requires reliable transportation, current driver’s license and insurance, and completion of evidence-based home visiting training/certification. Daily in-office attendance with some evening and weekend hours. Educational background is a BA/BS in elementary education, neuroscience, or related field; bilingual/multilingual candidates are encouraged. Must have or meet requirements for ACT 33 & 34 clearances, and proficiency with MS Office.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in elementary education, neuroscience, early childhood education, social work or similar from a four-year college or university
- Home visiting model training/certification is provided and required
- Current ACT 33 (Child Abuse) & 34 (Criminal Background) Clearances
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance
