Job Summary
Act as a liaison between families and school staff, translating oral and written communications and conducting home visits as necessary. Schedule translators for parent-teacher conferences and communicate student and family needs to appropriate school personnel. Collaborate with the principal to plan family engagement events, including Open House, Math Nights, and workshops, while partnering with community agencies to connect families with resources. Review and revise the School Parent Engagement Policy annually and conduct surveys to determine engagement goals. Promote a welcoming, inclusive environment for all families. Requires bilingual proficiency in Spanish, flexible availability for evenings and weekends, and travel within the district.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 48 college credit hours or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment
- Bilingual with proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing
- Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with diverse populations and understanding their needs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and general computer skills
- Flexible schedule, including availability for early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Requires travel within the district and occasional home visits
- Extended hours during events or busy periods
