Job Summary
Support partnerships among the school, parents/caregivers, and community to improve student achievement. Assist parents in engaging in activities that will improve academic achievement and help them understand how to support learning at home and in after-school and extracurricular programs; communicate effectively with children, teachers, and school staff; participate in design and assistance to students not making academic progress; coordinate with school, district, and community partners to remove barriers for family engagement and support continuous improvement; provide training and materials to parents (literacy and/or math) to help them work with their children; ensure information is sent in the appropriate home language; collaborate with educators to improve home-school partnerships and inform families about decision-making opportunities; adapt meetings to varied times and modalities; adhere to district policies and professional development requirements; promote positive interactions and maintain professional standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree
- Experience with families of diverse backgrounds
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Ability to collaborate with school and district personnel
- Proficiency in standard software
- Valid AZ driver’s license
- Satisfactory fingerprint clearance card
- Ability to communicate in home language
- Willingness to participate in training
- Ability to engage parents and communities in educational activities
