Job Summary
Assist the teacher in implementing academic and vocational instruction to students individually or in small groups to implement Student Educational Plans. Create and maintain a supportive learning environment while modeling appropriate behaviors to assist students in developing social skills. Safely assist students into and out of school transportation, transporting students to and from school as needed. Plan instructional content and activities aligned with standards that build on students' prior knowledge. Conduct ongoing observation and assessment, record instructional and behavioral data, and assist in developing techniques to reinforce learning. Modify materials and implement instructional and behavior management strategies under the direct supervision of the Special Education teacher.
Required Qualifications
- Willing to accept an hourly pay rate, ranging from $18.50 -$20.88 per hour
- Hold a valid Driver's License for a minimum of 3 years
- Earned a verifiable High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 18 Years of Age, or older
- Associates degree in education, child development or related field or enrolled in a higher education program that leads to a degree in education, child development or related field
- at least 5 years of experience
- completed required OHS curriculum within 3 months of hire
- A Public Service license with a V endorsement
- acceptable driving record
