Job Summary
Assist children in various classrooms with instructional tasks as assigned by the principal while managing classroom needs to ensure a safe, effective learning environment. Comply with all safety and health procedures, school policies, and regulations, maintaining the same high level of ethical behavior and student confidentiality expected of licensed teachers. Support classroom coverage and foster student safety under the supervision of the principal or assistant principal. This 9-month position involves sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting objects within a classroom setting at Enid Public Schools.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma or G.E.D.
- completed 2 years of post-secondary education (48 hours)
- Associate's Degree or higher
- passed the formal State Assessment Test (OGET)
- passed the ParaPro Assessment Test
- passed the Workkeys Test
- Evidence of, or willingness to, progress in instructional training opportunities
- Such alternative qualifications as the Board finds appropriate and acceptable
- Must be able to perform sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting objects
Desired Qualifications
- Substitute teaching or teaching assistance experience
