Job Summary
Conduct direct instruction support for students individually, in small groups, and within classroom settings. Provide assistance with daily classroom activities, prepare instructional materials, and manage behavior using prescribed approaches. Supervise students during field trip activities and assist with classroom setup and cleanup. Perform other related duties as requested by the Head of School or Principal. This temporary vacancy covers a paraprofessional on leave at Kennedy JF Elementary until June 30, 2027, when the covering staff member will be terminated.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Forty-eight (48) Credit Hours of College Coursework or an Associate's Degree, or a passing score on one of the two following Formalized Standardized Assessments: ParaPro Assessment or WorkKeys Certificate of Proficiency for Teacher Assistants
- Minimum of two years experience working with young children
- Current authorization to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
- Certification as a teacher or license as a social worker
- Fluency in Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, or Somali
