Job Summary
Support direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings while providing assistance with classroom activities and preparing instructional materials. Manage individual and classroom behavior using prescribed approaches, supervise students on field trip activities, and assist with classroom set up and clean up. Perform other related duties as requested by the Headmaster or Principal. This temporary vacancy covers a paraprofessional on leave until February 22, 2027, with a right to rescind retirement or resignation up until September 8, 2026. Candidates must have a high school diploma, 48 college credits, and two years of experience working with young children.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Forty-eight (48) Credit Hours of College Coursework or an Associate's Degree, or a passing score on one of the two following Formalized Standardized Assessments: ParaPro Assessment or WorkKeys Certificate of Proficiency for Teacher Assistants
- Minimum of two years experience working with young children
- Current authorization to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
- Certification as a teacher or license as a social worker
- Fluency in Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, or Somali
