Job Summary
Paraprofessional in Boston Public Schools to support direct instruction to children individually and in groups, prepare instructional materials, assist in classroom setup and cleanup, manage behavior using prescribed approaches, supervise students on field trips, and perform other related duties. Requires a High School Diploma or GED, 48 college credits or an Associate's Degree (or ParaPro/WorkKeys), at least 2 years of experience with young children, and US work authorization. Preferred qualifications include an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree and teaching license or social work licensure. Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Forty-eight (48) Credit Hours of College Coursework or an Associate's Degree, or a passing score on ParaPro Assessment or WorkKeys Certificate of Proficiency for Teacher Assistants
- Minimum of two years experience working with young children
- Current authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment
- Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
- Preferred: Certification as a teacher or license as a social worker
